Once again you have captured the essence of this whole economic mess of quicksand we seem unable to get out of. I continue to read Ron Paul's blog and it seems he agrees with you on so many things (or is it you agree with him...I like the first one). Please keep expounding on these issues, maybe some of the people, who are suppose to be making decisions will actually listen, and move in the right direction.

Excellent point! I only started with 980 out of 1,000 because that was the original fable as created by Ed "Nitwit" Quillen of the Denver Com-Post. In reality, according to the Tax Foundation, in 2006, 41% of all people paid absolutely zero tax, so you were "close enough for government work" as they say!

If he wanted to make this a real-life fable, he goof right out of the chute: in modern America, of 1000 households, maybe 500 pay taxes, not 980.

Remind me to never argue with an actuary. Well, once again, you've proven the fact that you need to be in charge, on a much greater basis. First, why don't the leaders know this? And second, why don't they know this? Certainly the system encourages them to not know it so they can increase their states (and their) monies, but it just seems so obvious the way you explain it. This is very frustrating. So why the "new" blog and not put this with the established blog? Looks good, both of you. I've passed this on to a number of people.
